Website icons can spice up your website. Unfortunately, they can get very pricey. The largest website icon distributor, IconShock, sells icons for hundreds of dollars. Although it may be worth every penny, it may not fit into every web designer’s budget.
There are however many websites that give out free icons. Just like template sites, these icon sites expect some webmasters to link them back. There are many sites that give out free icons. In fact, too many to list. Good thing that WebsiteIcons.net lists them for us. Visit their website to preview thousands of free icons, all cleverly organized into categories.
These icons are of high quality and can really help out a website. An example of a good use of these icons: Myspace Gateway.
Check out these free website icons and comment this post if you used one on your website!

1Thanks so much for the list. The tiny icons are fantastic. Being an average designer, I find tiny things the hardest to make. This will save me a lot of time. Nice.
