Social Bookmark Submit released a program that allows you to submit to hundreds of social bookmarking sites at a time. The program prompts you to enter your website information: URL, Title, Description and Tags. You also enter a username and password to the account you want created at these websites. In literally a matter of minutes, your details is submitted to any social bookmarking that have the popular open source script, Scuttle.

The website contains a demo that allows you to auto submit to up to 10 websites. The full version allows an unlimited amount, with over 180 Scuttle sites already put in.

I purchased the full version and here is my take. It really does its job. First, I went to Google and found over 100 more Scuttle sites to add to the list. If you have the patience, you can probably find almost 1,000! It’s a PHP script that you just put on your server. You enter your stuff and just wait to see the results. Out of all the sites I submitted to, less than half were successful. But really, you can’t complain because over 150 still went through.

I didn’t see any traffic increases from being listed on the websites themselves, but it did provide the site with the backlinks promised. You can’t spam because if the sites are at all moditered, you will be caught and deleted. Moreover, you are running the script from your server so your IP can also be blocked. Some of these sites are nofollow, but there is still a good amount that follow.

My only major problem was that it doesn’t allow multiple keyword tags such as “web hosting.” I contacted the owner of the script and am hoping that he can fix the ‘bug.’

There is a similar program that auto submits to social bookmarking sites that contain the Pligg script, a competitor of Scuttle. This script basically does the same thing: creates account and submits websites. Auto Pligg costs $180. Scuttlr costs $47.

Try out the demo and see if you are interested. That’s what I did and I ended up buying it.
